With rain showers that fell on the hour it was still waiting to see what this day would bring in NSF100 championship. The first training was a little damp, Vasco went all nice and round and came to a fine sixth place. In the qualifying session the track was pretty dry and it was fine again, which gave the 7 spot on the grid star. In a race the track was still wet in the beginning, but Vasco had a rocket launch ( video here ) and came midway through the first round in place by 2! That he could sustain for a while, to others the situation is getting better and he started to feel some places had to hand. Then it was again the familiar image: Vasco and Jerrey each other round after round chasing. Jerrey came in the closing laps to drive front and despite a valiant attempt to catch Vasco stayed the order and as they came on site 5 and 6 in, neat! In Race two ( starting video here ) were the two working together again but now could Vasco at the end of the race, hit a hole so Jerrey there no longer could get the roles were exactly reversed. So great result, which Vasco his sixth place in the championship again has managed to consolidate.
On Friday we traveled down again to Emmen, Pots Dijk remains a nice job for NSF100's. Fun day training with the opportunity to highlight the legendary drivers and Anton Frans Straver, the technical basis of the NSF100 championship, driving himself to see. Saturday 13 participants, there appeared quite a few off field filled with even a Danish guest driver. The training went well, was sixth after Vasco Livio because a floating rear brake rotor had to start, so in fact seventh. Livio won both races anyway everyone to drive home! Both races were exactly the same: Vasco drove around after a good start in seventh place, the new champion Terrel fell off and one of the other front men stopped there involuntarily them (Tan / Robert). Then began the cat and mouse game with Vasco's great friend Jerrey place at five. Each round was in part two of both races, but exactly the same: Vasco was faster on the straights and in the first part of the infield, which Jerrey in the second part again was faster and Vasco in the last corner caught up until Vasco on the straight back up to speed passed. Overtaking that in the last corner was so often repeated that Vasco really looked back from "where are you now" when Jerrey it failed within a round to get through. A beautiful and very athletic struggle of two friends. Result was a rising trend that Vasco before the finish line first again and so I drove up to two occasions a very well deserved fifth place packed! By Robert DNF Thijs and he was the final score even one quarter, top right?!
No less than five days stood in the caravan of Circus Vasco Wittgenborn for the European Championship Mini Road Racing. A big event with lots and lots of Italians Dutch. Additionally Germans, Belgians, Swiss, Czechs, Danes and one Spaniard and San Marino. In MiniGP100 reason 'but' man 13 NSF100 Honda's standard, though that piece by piece strong riders from many different countries. The paddock was a madhouse with rubbish left lying about, mega motor homes, continuous full throttle testing engines, gazebos, compressors, barbecues, midnight Italian footballing kids and Eastern European disco.
Within 1 minute, all Dutch engine in technical rejected, we had no Explosafe in the tank because we do not do that and not in the European Championship own rules state. What heated discussions later it was still good but the fear there was best. Wednesday it rained and we did not steal pipe extra wheels with rain tires, the only dry session was used to explore job and new tires to drive. Thursday was mixed in terms of weather in the afternoon only one really dry track. In terms of driving shot that is not really. Anyway patience was a virtue, the Euro is also about a long wait between a few rijsessies by ...
Valentino Rossi in America rides on a very special motor. In fact the engine are 500 faces of fans . Vasco and his father are out! Dad was a big screw through the cheek ("I got screwed!") But looks great on Vasco. Here an action shot of Vale at Laguna Seca, look!
A few weeks ago, Vasco rode a beautiful race in the junior circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. Nice race went very well and was exciting until the last. Sat behind his Honda NSF100 an onboard camera that beautifully portrays the action. First round is tame, it is also the warm up lap, but then it is quite loose! Thanks to Bartman for the video cut.
